Hello Soap! First Soap Blog

Soap making is truly an addiction for me,and a good one at that . It feels good to get the creative juices flowing , try different soap recipes & fragrances and the best part of all..getting to use it everyday :)

My hobby started with making body butter and in my search I came across  soap making blogs which got me curious about handmade soaps. All I can say is,once I used a handmade soap I knew I was never going back to the commercial ones ..maybe except for LUSH.
LUSH happens to be my favorite brand and their Dream cream is just divine. But upon reading many reviews ,I found that even those have quite a bit of preservatives to keep their shelf life going. This got me into thinking I should maybe try making my own and here I am, making my own lotions & soaps now.

It's been a few months into soap making and I think I got off with a pretty good start with my 'Love Spell' soap. From all the reading I did, most soapers have a few good tries before they got their soaps right..so I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised to find it turned out exactly how I had hope it to be or maybe even better!

This is my favorite fragrance and soap recipe.Made with Olive oil ,Palm oil, Coconut oil, Castor oil ,Sodium Hydroxide ,micas for color and fragrance oil.The fragrance used has a light fruity-floral scent with notes of orange ,peach, cherry blossom and white jasmine.

Its funny how my soap making addiction has gotten me to clean out my unorganized garage into something finally clean and useful.I spent a whole long weekend cleaning and organizing and cleared away a ton of junk that was getting accumulated .I even painted the garage walls myself .The things one does for soaps!

More soapy stuff to come soon..so stay tuned!
